This is a little embarrassing, but, since it happened several years ago, I think I can claim a statute of limitations on it. It was during a holiday party, and we were at the point in the evening when our leadership was announcing our year-end award winners. I felt I was having a banner year, and was more than half expecting to be recognized for it. As the speaker described the contributions and achievements of the soon-to-be awardee, I became more confident that within moments I would be up there shaking hands and posing for photos. Maybe a speech? No, that would be too much. I was so sure, my butt was about two inches out of my chair in anticipation that I would need to stand. Any minute.

I have to say, I am having the best time curating this series on my colleagues’ Imagine the Possibilities™  Card purchases! As much as I love to shop, it’s almost as fun to do it vicariously—especially when it’s for one of my favorite indulgences! This month, I’m featuring Amber, who’s been at the ‘Ville since 2012. Kaleigh and I just attended TEDxGrand Rapids a couple of weeks ago and we are both feeling inspired and energized from a day of intellectual and gastronomical stimulation. (Yes, the food was spectacular, and, yes, I’ve been raving about it almost as much as the talks!)

Can you believe it? Yes, the polar vortex did finally get knocked off its axis and spring, seeing the opportunity, managed to sneak past it. Along with green grass, bountiful blooms, (seasonal allergies!), and warm breezes, it's also summer event planning time! Time think about the what, the how, and the where of this important workplace activity.
