Most work weeks are focused on business objectives, decisions from management, or customer issues. Employee Appreciation Day, on the other hand, is a special day that should be truly centered around the teams of employees that make things happen every single day. Companies have nothing to lose and so much to gain by making the effort to show employees appreciation and recognize their hard work and efforts. This Forbes article said it best: "Why aren't we celebrating great accomplishments more often in the one place where average people are achieving great things every single day- at the office?" (source). This is a great question that is posed and Employee Appreciation Day is the best time to celebrate those accomplishments.
