It's interesting: challenge is a word that often has a connotation of difficulty, struggle, and frustration. We face challenges. We overcome challenges. But we rarely welcome them, unless, that is, we're at work. In the professional world, one of the top desires of most workers is be challenged—because it makes our days more interesting, more rewarding, more satisfying, and, ultimately, more successful.

For many years, in high school and in college, I waited tables. Although, I made many friendships along the way, met a lot of great people and made some great tips – it definitely wasn’t the easiest job I have ever had.

I'd love to tell you that I don't love to toot my own horn, but, the truth is, I'm a tooter. Sometimes you simply have to take matters into your own hands! A solo performance isn't a bad thing once in a while, but it is nothing like when everyone picks up an instrument and starts playing in your personal symphony.
