Allison mentioned in one of her previous blog posts, the 'ville's fourth-annual Spring Fitness Challenge has begun and is now well under way. We are just past the half-way point and as a team captain, I must say everyone is doing an incredible job!
The company refrigerators are packed with fruits and vegetables and healthy lunches every single day. And there is also a buzz around the office about how active and healthy everyone is off the clock, which is amazing! Baudvillians are joining gyms, buying fitness equipment, signing up for races, and getting off their couches to enjoy the great outdoors!
I started this weight loss journey 1½ years ago. In that time I've gone through several life challenges, the most challenging being this fall when I lost my Mother to cancer within a matter of six weeks of her diagnosis. I know a lot of people would have given up at that point, but I saw this as an opportunity to push myself, keep going and know that my end result would have made her so proud.
Tomorrow is National Bike to Work Day! Now, we all have excuses as to why we drive to work instead of riding our bikes: the commute is too long, inclement weather, not enough time, you have to take your kids to school, the list goes on and on.
Well Race day came and went and it was a beautiful day for a run! Historically held on a rainy, cold and dreary day, runners were pleasantly surprised with sunshine. I, personally, was extremely thankful for that.
Our fourth-annual Spring Fitness Challenge started this week, and got off to an exciting start with the addition of a new, online wellness platform! Every year, we look to improve our wellness initiatives, and this year that meant upgrading our program from manual to digital—creating ease of use for both participants and team captains!
