Embarrassing Office Moments: The Stuff You Just Can’t Make Up!

Have you ever had an embarrassing moment at work?

While it may have been a moment of sheer humiliation, now it's something that you and your co-workers are able to laugh about and even share with new team members. It helps build those essential work connections and friendships that are building blocks to having fun at work!

I have to say that I've had my fair share of them, and they always seem to come up in conversation, even years later.

Oh, remember when Kim...

Wore that skirt one day and proceeded to walk from the bathroom to her desk (which is not just down the hall, by the way), with the back tucked in to her underwear?!

Yeah, that was me.

I got back to my desk and sat down, not even feeling any noticeable difference. Come on Kim.

So, a few minutes later, a guy that I work with came over and whispered, "Your skirt is tucked into your underwear." HORRIFIED. RED FACE. SWEATY.

Now, at the time, this guy and I were not close work buddies. But, over the past several years, we've definitely formed a friendship and a mutual trust. And, we always have a great story to laugh about together and with others.

Embrace those embarrassing moments, build friendships, and have fun!

Share your embarrassing moment with us on Facebook, we'd love to hear about it.

Kimberly's Kitchen: Thanksgiving Office Potluck

Thanksgiving is coming up fast and I'm sure many of you are organizing office potlucks to kick off the holiday season. The holidays are the perfect time to get your team together, celebrate the year's accomplishments, and thank everyone for all they've done. A potluck is a great way to kick that recognition and camaraderie into full swing!

So if you aren't planning one yet, think about starting an annual holiday potluck to get the office rejuvenated during a time when people are getting antsy about the holidays, but also to take a breather an
d enjoy co-workers' company.

Make sure to create a signup sheet so you know how many people will be bringing something and that you don't end up with all the same stuff! You can also go to a free online tool like, SignUp Genius, to help you create the online sign up form, email your co-workers, and track what everyone's bringing. Very handy!

I don't know about you, but I always struggle with what to bring to potlucks. You want something you can make the night before, that's easy to transport, and doesn't have a lot of fuss. One of my favorite items to bring is a cheese ball, and it's always a hit. It's so easy – just whip it up the night before, and bring it to the potluck. No muss, no fuss. And it's so delicious!

 PINEAPPLE CHEESE BALL

1-1/2 packages (12 oz) cream cheese
1 small can crushed pineapple (well drained)

Powdered sugar (to taste- approximately 2-3 Tbsp.)
Green onion (optional-to taste, approximately 2 Tbsp.)
Chopped ham (optional-to taste, approximately 2-3 Tbsp. I used deli meat ham)
Chopped pecans (about 1 cup worth)

Combine all ingredients together. Mash into a ball and chill. Roll in crushed pecans. Refrigerate until served. Serve with crackers.

Kimberly's Kitchen: A New Series Bringing Yummy Recipes to Share with your Team

Let's just start by saying that I LOVE baked goods. I love to bake them. I love to eat them. But most of all I love to SHARE them. It makes me so happy to make something that people enjoy and bring smiles to their faces. My husband a nd boys a re chocolate chip cookie fantatics, so I bake those quite often. (Oh, and by the way, I found an even better recipe than that one on the back of the bag folks. You can find it on our Pinterest Board.) But, when I get the opportuni ty t o bake a new recipe, and take it somewhere (so I don't eat all of it), I am very excited!!

A couple of years ago, my son was in 2nd grade and I offered to send in a treat for their Halloween party. I needed something easy and fast since I couldn't bake it until 8pm the night before the party. I scoured to find something and came across a recipe for Pumpkin Pie Squares. You can always count on me to try something new when I shouldn't since just about anything can go wrong, but I did it anyway. It's very similar to the standard pumpkin pie recipe, so what could go wrong, right?!

These squares turned out beautifully and were so delicious - not one came back in the container from school!

Share these Pumpkin Pie Squares this fall with your team; you won't regret it.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 eggs
3/4 cup white sugar
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Mix in flour. Fold in oats. Press into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
3. Bake in preheated oven 15 minutes, until set.
4. In a large bowl, beat eggs with white sugar. Beat in pumpkin and evaporated milk. Mix in salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Pour over baked crust.
5. Bake in preheated oven 20 minutes, until set. Let cool before cutting into squares.
