Don't Sweep International Housekeeping Week Under the Rug!

When you step into your hotel room and examine the fresh, clean sheets, towels, and spotless room, do you ever think about the person or people who were behind it all? Housekeepers oftentimes work 12- hour days, get up early, and/or stay at work late to make sure that you're living in a clean and healthy environment. Housekeepers aren't only employed by hotels, they work at hospitals, universities, businesses and, if you're lucky, you have one for your own home.  These hard-working individuals are definitely in need of some recognition! Luckily, they have a whole week dedicated to them! International Housekeeping Week is celebrated on the week of September 14-20.

It's Never Too Early to Start Planning Customer Service Week!

Do you find that you are oftentimes busy with everyday life  and time seems to fly by? How often do you find yourself saying, "I can't  believe it's already (insert month here)"?

If your answer is "yes" and you have said that popular  phrase more times than you can count…that leads me to my point: it's never too  early to start planning for Customer Service Week. CSW is celebrated October  6-10, and right now that seems like light years away, but it really is right  around the corner!

Employee Retirement Series. Part 3: Giving the Perfect Presentation

I remember my Dad's retirement party well: it was in the early aughts and I was wearing this smashing purple-on-purple polka-dot dress (hmmm…wish I still had that dress…) and everyone was there: his former secretary from, like, 1974, past and present colleagues, friends, family, and, I could swear even one of his grad-school professors. I can picture the scene like it was yesterday, even though you'd think it would be a memory long-discarded—just like that dress.
