I'm often jealous of the amazing shoe collection Allison has. For every adorable outfit, she has a matching pair of shoes to go with it. I, on the other hand, tend to lean towards the same pair of shoes, as long as they match, regardless of my outfit. Every morning I stare into my closet at my racks of shoes, and think maybe today I'll venture out. Then I grab the same black flats...

Onboarding.

A  term both the employer and new employee really don't exactly look forward to. It can be scary, time consuming, and full of unknowns. It includes paperwork, sweaty handshakes, cheek pain from all of the smiles (speaking from actual experience), and overall a crazy time.

... That is, unless, you do it right. And here at Baudville, I've learned that we thoroughly believe in doing onboarding the right way. Why? I'm glad you asked.

Can you believe it? Yes, the polar vortex did finally get knocked off its axis and spring, seeing the opportunity, managed to sneak past it. Along with green grass, bountiful blooms, (seasonal allergies!), and warm breezes, it's also summer event planning time! Time think about the what, the how, and the where of this important workplace activity.

All you have to do is Google “Team Building” and you will not have a shortage of definitions and ideas. I know as a Manager of a large sales team I have often had to research new ideas, not only to help build the best team, but to keep the best team. I have read a lot about how to use team building activities to keep my sales reps engaged and excited to do their jobs every day. I have to admit that it is not as hard to do that here at Baudville, since it is an awesome place to work, but just like you I still have to work at keeping the employees happy!
