Weddings, wedding, weddings! There must be love potion in the water at the ‘Ville, as it seems everyone is tying the knot lately. Last month, Alan was getting ready for his wedding, and just recently Lisa recited her vows. In the last couple of months, members of our sales suite and IDville did, too.

Lisa, who is our Client Services Manager for hi5, happens to sit right near me, so I got to hear all the updates about her nuptials—and how the Imagine the Possibilities™ card she got for her Baudville anniversary was a part of it all! Here’s her story:

The dog days are over! That is, if you strategically saved a stash of your PTO for the summer months (AKA: When everybody wants to be outdoors enjoying the sun instead of looking at it from thier desk.) But, if you didn’t, and your employees are in the same boat, you’re in luck. I’ve come up with a handful of ideas to keep you and your team productive when the struggle is real and the drag between the 4^th and Labor Day feels like an eternity. We all know the importance of employee engagement and employee motivation, so I’ll get right to it:

“Ahhhhhh” was the collective utterance of those departing the Las Vegas heat (112 degrees when I left!?!) and, while most were ready to say goodbye to the oppressive temps, we were not leaving empty handed. The annual Society of Human Resource Management Conference is the largest gathering of HR professionals on the planet (their words, but I am guessing based on my experience they’re accurate). And, true to its claim, it delivered astronomical insights to both those attending and soaking in the sessions and those of us manning the tradeshow floor…

I just looked at the forecast for this week, and while we Michiganders can’t trust the weather report unless we’re looking out the window while it’s happening, it doesn’t look promising for this week’s Recess at Work activities. Oh, well. Just like we did in grade school when the skies turned inclement we will have to find some mischief to get into indoors!

Creating Excitement and Increasing Attendance is Easy as 1, 2, 3…4!

If you’re involved in event planning for your company, you know how much time and effort goes in to making your events successful. You also know that there are good reasons your company hosts these activities: to build energy around new initiatives, to celebrate the achievements of the year, to provide moments of ice-breaking and fellowship among teams, and more. If you can’t get your employees engaged or interested in them, it can be both a disappointment as well as a waste of your time and your company’s money to continue. You might think the answer is to just stop having these events, but there’s a better answer than that: start making them better! How?
