I recently found myself chuckling at an Inc article that featured photos of 10 startup offices around the world.  It wasn’t the nap net or the ball pit meeting room that struck me funny, it was the concept that companies are investing more time and even more money into creating an attractive work environment in hopes to lure top talent.  And I 100% believe this strategy works.

We all know the look of a disengaged employee. They’re surfing Facebook with a bored look on their face, glancing at the clock every few minutes but the workplace doesn’t have to look like a jail cell full of employees expecting release in 8-9 hours.

If you've been keeping up on your business reading, you've probably noticed that employee engagement is the topic du jour. Why? Much like the tolls of a natural disaster, we can't help but talk about it. The numbers are shocking. 

Guess what? 2016 is coming! And, with it, a feeling that it’s time to make a fresh start. If you’ve got “new” on your mind, but don’t know quite what to focus on, here are my best ideas to get you going!
